Full Job Description

As a Finance Assistant, you will be an integral part of our Finance Operations team. You'll ensure our financial processes run smoothly, from handling direct debits and rent payments to preparing essential reports that will help steer our financial decisions. This role is perfect for someone detail-oriented, with strong Excel skills and a proactive approach. What You'll Do:

  • Prepare Financial Reports: Compile and generate key financial reports, ensuring timeliness and accuracy, providing critical insights for decision-making.
  • Manage Master Supplier Data: Keep the master supplier database accurate and up to date, ensuring seamless transactions and efficient payment processing.
  • Ensure a Robust Audit Trail: Maintain a rock-solid audit trail for all payments, supplier approvals, and invoice processes, ensuring everything complies with company policies.
  • Oversee Direct Debits: Ensure the timely processing of direct debits, quickly resolving any discrepancies that may arise.
  • Handle Rent & Rates: Manage the rent and rates inbox, keeping detailed records and ensuring stakeholders are informed.
  • CapEx Reporting: Assist with capital expenditure (CapEx) reporting, delivering key financial insights and managing detailed tracking.
  • Goods Received Note (GRN) Reporting: Regularly report on GRNs, ensuring all goods received are accurately tracked and accounted for.
  • Excel Expertise: Use your Excel skills (including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs) to manage complex data, build reports, and support the finance team.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with Accounts Payable, Treasury, and other key members of the finance team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Support the Team: Take on additional responsibilities as needed to help drive the team's success., Be part of a close-knit, supportive team within a growing business.

    Proven experience in a finance role, ideally within operations or reporting.
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Sage X3 is preferred but not essential.
  • AAT Level 2 or 3 qualification is highly desirable.
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders.
  • Positive, proactive, and adaptable with a solution-focused mindset.
