Job Title: Finance Assistant - HC619502
Location: Southampton (Agile working will be considered)
Salary: Scale 4, £26,106 - £28,653 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week (Part-time hours will be considered)
Contract: Permanent
Closing date: Sunday 19th January 2025 at 23.59 hours
Would you like to work as part of our finance team supporting officers and staff within the HIOWC and enabling them to perform their duties to the best of their ability?
We are looking for someone who thrives in a busy environment and can work flexibly as part of a team spread across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
As a Finance Assistant you will be involved in a range of activities. You'll be ordering supplies to keep our frontline operational teams running smoothly, for example, making sure our forensic and custody teams have the equipment they need to work effectively. You'll also be responsible for petty cash and banking tasks and will need to use your initiative to deal with queries from frontline police officers, customers and suppliers.
If you are a team player who enjoys working in an environment where accuracy is key but are also able to work on your own initiative, when required, then this may be the role that you are looking for

Essential Qualifications
Educated to QCF Level 2 including Maths and English OR work experience deemed to have brought the post holder to a comparable level.
Essential Experience
-Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good IT skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
- Works well in a team.
- Organised and able to prioritise activities, often to tight deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to achieve 'right first time'.
- Good follow up skills to be able to achieve pragmatic solutions within defined procedures
