Department Of Oncology, Radiobiology Research Institute, Churchill Hospital, Headington, Oxford OX3 7LJ About the role We have an exciting opportunity to join the Oncology Finance team. The post holder will be a key member of the departmental Purchase to Pay (P2P) team as a Finance Assistant, where you'll play a crucial role in linking our research scientists with suppliers. In this position, you will process invoices, code requisitions, and ensure compliance with VAT regulations, all while maintaining a high level of accuracy under tight deadlines. You will be responsible for liaising with stakeholders, validating goods and services, and providing essential guidance to ensure smooth financial operations. Your proactive approach will help us enhance efficiency within the finance office and support the effective management of departmental funds. The post will be based at the Radiobiology Research Institute, Churchill Hospital, Headington, Oxford OX3 7LJ, This is a full-time post available on a 2-year fixed-term contract.

You will need to be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent, with proven experience in financial administration. Familiarity with computer-based accountancy systems is essential, as is a strong ability to work with numbers. Your high numeracy skills will be complemented by exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring that all financial transactions are processed correctly. You'll demonstrate excellent team-working abilities, thriving in a collaborative environment while also being capable of handling routine matters with minimal supervision. Strong verbal and written communication skills will enable you to liaise effectively with colleagues and stakeholders. Proficiency in IT will further enhance your ability to contribute to our team. If you have experience in a university setting or with Oracle financials, that would be an advantage. Your proactive mindset and commitment to excellence will make a significant impact on our operations.
