Finance Business Analyst, QA Higher Education, Leeds City Centre
Hybrid Working (3 days at home, can offer flexible working hours)
Fulltime, Permanent Opportunity

As a fully qualified Accountant you will work within our Finance team and be instrumental in helping to meet our key business objectives. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management accounting processes, ensuring monthly reporting procedures and deadlines are achieved. You will have a flair and inquisitive mind to track, report and measure the data, have a commercial background to help explain the story behind the numbers and the ability to challenge the business to ensure sound decisions are being made. This is a newly created role so you have the chance to make it your own and it will evolve over time.

Assist with the preparation of the monthly management accounts, supporting data and reporting including calculation of the monthly revenue and direct costs.
Assist with the preparation of the monthly KPI reporting pack including the variance analysis.
Provide meaningful commercial commentary on variances and suggestions on ways to improve KPI performance.
Work with MA team to ensure KPI's are correctly reflected in accounting system and new KPI's can be tracked accurately.
Assist with working capital analysis and reporting including providing meaningful insight into drivers of variances and ways to improve forecasting of the balance sheet.
Support the Financial Controller with Short term Cashflow Forecasting.
Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations including deferred income and bad debt.
Calculation of the deferred income and bad debt true ups each intake end and the related KPI phasing.
Build withdrawals curves to aid future forecasting and provisioning in this area.
Business partner with internal stakeholders including the Income Team, Agents payables Registry, FP&A to validate data.

Fully qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA accountant.
Previous experience in a similar role with management accounting responsibilities.
Good commercial insight
Experience business partnering
Experience building management reports.
Experience working on multiple projects at once and to tight deadlines.
Sound knowledge of accounting principles, compliance and auditing.
Advanced working knowledge of Excel.
