Full Job Description

The role is responsible for providing finance support to the Rental Division senior management team (including Central Operations Area Director, Production Planning teams, CI teams and Customer Services). Key objectives of the role are to ensure appropriate financial focus, rigour, insight and challenge in order to identify opportunities and to mitigate risk. The role exists to support internal customers in all finance and accounting matters including budgeting, forecasting and cost control.,

  • Primary Finance Support: Partnering with the Regional Director/MD and their teams on all finance-related matters.

  • Management Accounts: Interpreting monthly management accounts to provide meaningful analysis and commentary against budgets, forecasts, and previous years' performance for the respective area, and owning specific P&L lines for a comprehensive business view.

  • Sales Performance Support: Providing analysis and challenge on the utilisation of the rental fleet, rental rates, transport rates, and 360 products to deliver against budget and forecast targets.

  • Reporting: Producing monthly regional/OBU trading and reporting packs with appropriate league tables for depot and sales performance by salesperson.

  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Preparing quarterly forecasts and annual budgets for all depots and regional functions, delivering insight and analysis to identify and communicate long-term trends to key stakeholders.

  • Initiative Support: Supporting the identification and implementation of initiatives across the business, including preparing business cases with robust financial models.

  • P&L Analysis: Providing robust financial analysis of the Delivery & Installation part of the P&L and helping identify cost-saving or margin-enhancing opportunities.

  • Cost Monitoring: Monitoring maintenance costs per unit and challenging production efficiency in the end-to-end yard process to drive optimal cost per unit type.

  • Contract Profitability: Developing and reviewing end-to-end contract profitability, making recommendations to senior stakeholders on improvements across different customers and product sets.

  • Month-End Support: Supporting the financial accounting teams by providing operational insight into the month-end numbers and supplementary analysis required for external reporting.

  • FP&A Requirements: In addition to regional business partnering, FP&A requirements across the P&L covering Sales, Cost of Sales (GPC), Cost to Serve (D&I), SG&A, working capital, and Capex.

    Qualified Accountant

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in FP&A/FBP role

  • Strong analytical skills & ability to manipulate large data sets

  • Confident communicator with the ability to manage a diverse set of senior stakeholders

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and influence at a senior level

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Able to work independently

  • Proactive in approach

  • Able to prioritise effectively to focus on high impact activities

  • Strong commercial acumen
