Full Job Description

This role sits within the Finance - Homes and Money Team; a team of 9 consisting of Business Partners and Senior Business Analysts, all working in partnership with colleagues across the breadth of the organisation to support the delivery of their respective strategic objectives. Within this team you will gain a comprehensive understanding of the business, working closely with key stakeholders across a variety of different areas, such as commercial, risk, finance, IT & Change and distribution to name but a few. This role plays a key part in this journey, providing support to key stakeholder areas across the business; effectively working as an extension of their respective teams to contribute to the delivery of their strategic objectives. This will be done through the provision of value creating financial, commercial and advisory support with a key focus on building internal and external trends and insights. Within this role, you must have a proven ability to leverage the insight produced, identifying opportunities to utilise this within the respective Homes and Money businesses to drive commercial and financial performance through support and constructive challenge.   • What Will You Be Doing?
  • Work in partnership to help deliver the strategic objectives of the Home Financing business, the Money business and Group enabling functions.
  • Play an active role in providing input to the Corporate Plan and Quarterly Forecasts, working with stakeholders to derive key assumptions, ensuring direction is well thought through and setting the Society up to succeed.
  • Closely monitor financial performance, linking this to the commercial activities across the business. Work independently to develop relationships, supporting stakeholders understanding of the performance drivers and highlighting emerging threats and/or opportunities.
  • Assist with the development of various strategic and tactical initiatives through the formulation of risk/reward analysis and business case development.
  • Utilise your financial expertise to drive commercial performance through accurate insights and advice.
  • Provide robust challenge and financial risk assessment to support the strategic decision-making process.

    We have an opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to join our Homes & Money Finance team. In this role you will be uniquely placed to help drive optimised commercial and financial performance; utilising your strong analytical skills to produce meaningful insight, which in turn can then be used to influence key decisions through effective partnering across the organisation., Demonstrable experience in finance business partnering.
  • A strong understanding of the commercial drivers of a Financial Services business and how these influence financial outcomes.
  • A proven track record of providing value creating financial insight with a strong ability to engage, influence and work in partnership with stakeholders at all levels, providing constructive challenge when required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, issues and recommend actions
  • The ability to confidently present data in a meaningful and effective way, tailoring the approach to suit the audience.
  • Experience of building business cases, presenting and debating investment choices.
  • Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
