Full Job Description

We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to join the finance shared services team, to be responsible for planning, developing and delivering Finance for the Trust and its schools. Based out of our Gloucester hub, this is an exciting opportunity to join GLT and become an integral member of the Finance team.

Greenshaw Learning Trust is a highly successful multi academy trust that provides excellent quality, comprehensive, non-selective and inclusive education through primary schools and secondary schools. Our schools are based in London, Surrey, Berkshire, Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire, Bristol and Plymouth.

Main responsibilities:

Working with head teachers and other budget holders to prepare a three-year financial budget within a set of consistent budget assumptions
Identifying savings within the financial budget to support the medium-term financial plan (MTFP)
Working with finance managers to improve the accuracy of management accounts
Maintaining a budget forecast throughout the year to reflect known anticipated changes in the final position.
Preparing monthly monitoring reports to show year to date actual performance against budgeted performance highlighting areas of risk
Producing internal and external benchmarking reports
Managing the administration of Trust finance systems.
You will need

Comprehensive understanding of financial systems and double entry book-keeping
Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
A financial background with strong knowledge of annual budget creation and budget monitoring
Financial qualification, CCAB, AAT level 4 or equivalent is desirable
Experience of using Sage Intacct, IMP and producing statutory reports would also be an advantage
Experience of working within education is not essential but would be a bonus for us!
