Full Job Description

At Gregory Distribution, as a result of continued growth, we have a vacancy for a Finance Business Partner . Based at our Cullompton depot, this role will involve working as part of the wider finance team, reporting to the Group Finance Director whilst supporting the assigned Board member and their senior management team. This is an exciting opportunity to make your own and develop within the business. This role will involve travelling to other sites in the group. The position of Finance Business Partner involves :

  • Reviewing the weekly P&L flash / forecast results and the monthly management accounts, to work with the business unit lead to understand business performance to be able to drive profitability.
  • Co-ordinating the production of the detailed annual budget and quarterly forecast, working with the operational managers, identifying risks and opportunities to the business area's forecast and support their presentations to the Board.
  • Producing timely and accurate financial reports and business cases to support decision making.
  • Liaising closely with operational management and presenting the financials at monthly meetings.
  • Developing the business partnering role to become an integral part of the respective Board member's management team.
  • Challenging the operational management team on revenue and cost to ensure profit and margin is maximised and helping drive a culture of continuous improvement in your designated business area.
  • Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial people, offering professional judgement.
  • Continually refining finance and other business processes to improve efficiency.
  • Promoting best practice financial control and governance across the business.
  • Assisting with commercial business tenders & appraising capital projects for financial viability and ROI.
  • Line management of Finance Analyst.
  • Commercialising any new business solution to ensure financial benefit maximised.

    Professionally qualified accountant.
  • Demonstrable experience of working within a commercially focused finance environment.
  • Previous experience of interaction with senior management and directors within a business.
  • Effective communicator, at all levels, both orally and in writing, with the ability to develop internal and external relationships.
  • Strong numeracy skills with a good attention to detail.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and work under pressure whilst adhering to strict deadlines.
  • IT literate including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Desirable skills required for Finance Business Partner :
  • Previous experience in the distribution and logistics industry.
  • Experience of using finance / ERP systems

    Salary for Finance Business Partner is circa £55,000pa Depending on Experience.
  • Monday to Friday based on 37.5hpw 08 : 30 to 17 : 00.
