Full Job Description

In this fantastic role you will drive the performance of our Convenience business with over 2,000 stores and counting! Working cross-functionally to deliver end-to-end solutions whether that be working with: Stores leadership team on refining the operating model; Product teams on driving volume in the format or Property team on new store pipeline or looking to maximise our cash returns from core estate, all of which underpinned by data driven and insight-led thinking.

You will be responsible for:

Co-piloting the Stores leadership to develop and deliver the strategy across three key areas:

Taking a longer-term view of our operating model to understand future risks and opportunities whether that be increased regulation, the role of technology or changes in the shopping trip.
Expanding strategic thinking across our UK Convenience Business which comprises of >2,000 express stores, 1,000 One Stop Stores and around 7,000 Booker Retail Partners across Premier, Londis and Budgens symbols
Ownership of our ESSO business working with the team to define the roles of these stores and the partnership within the estate

Reviewing and challenging cases for Express investments, ensuring the incremental investments are accurately monitored and benefits understood
Drive improvements and simplification of processes and finance operating model, working with finance to ensure end-to-end delivery
Developing financial models to help support decision making and understand sensitivities

Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Finance experience in driving strategic priorities in large complex organisations
Experience of engaging senior colleagues
Highly evolved financial analysis and modelling skills, with the ability to spot trends and draw actionable insights from data
The ability to work in a fast-paced change led environment and comfortable tackling big areas of complexity
Strong communication skills with ability to influence and drive action
