Full Job Description

This is a wonderful opportunity to join Ocado on a permanent basis as a Finance Business Partner with one direct report into you.

In this role you will have accountability to partner and support key business stakeholders including the provision of insight and analysis to support decisions, preparation and development of budgeting and forecasting and management information.

The Technology finance team is a forward thinking, ambitious team who have created a highly effective team that understands the importance of commercial acumen, strong business partnering skills and a good understanding of the business and processes.

To be successful in this role you must have a drive to continually improve, able to build relationships with key stakeholders, using initiatives and being able to back up assumptions confidently as well as being a strategic and analytical thinker.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business area to provide insight and support decision making to achieve business plans

  • Work closely with the Finance Excellence teams to develop and provide accurate and insightful reporting leveraging financial and non-financial data

  • Responsible for the financial management of budgets in tech software & cloud

  • Commercial support and analysis of key tech software contracts

  • Prepare ROI calculations for key Technology software

  • Build strong relationships with the project accounting team to consistently drive and improve reporting of capitalised staff time

  • Assist the business in preparing CEGs (capital expenditure group papers)

  • Identify, monitor and assist the delivery of KPIs across business areas

  • Help support the development of product roadmap across business areas

  • Deliver the planning, budgeting and forecasting process for their area including identification of risk and opportunities

  • Deep understanding of the operational drivers to provide relevant insight and decision making support

  • Support business case development, commercial contracts, programme & project delivery and business reviews providing robust financial data

  • Provide management information, insight and ad hoc analysis to support performance tracking, cost control and decision making ensuring these are timely, relevant and insightful

  • Support investment appraisals and work closely with the project controlling team to support the business on the financial management of the projects through the project life cycle creating robust capex and opex plans

  • Prepare post investment appraisals for key projects, providing feedback on areas to improve on future projects

  • Ensure the right financial standards, compliance processes and controls are applied into the business areas

  • Support period end activities including high level variance analysis and commentary with the support of the Finance Analyst

  • Identify, suggest and implement improvements to business processes and financial controls to increase efficiency and ensure all costs are recorded accurately in the accounts

  • Manage, support and develop your team to drive engagement and performance

    Relevant financial qualifications ACA / ACCA / CIMA

  • Experience in a fast paced global environment and strong commercial acumen

  • Ability to constructively challenge ways of working fostering improvements to drive efficiency

  • Ability to build and provide effective analysis & insight to support decision making

  • Ability to build trusted relationships with key stakeholders and finance teams
