Full Job Description

Are you an undergraduate student studying Accounting, Business, Data Analytics, Economics, Finance, or Mathematics? If so, we have a 12-month placement available starting in July 2025. Don't miss out on this opportunity! We are seeking four proactive self-learners with a passion for numbers, data, reporting and analysing who want to become placement interns at Sony Europe ensuring that our commercial operations across the world are underpinned with sound financial practice!, You will be supporting Sony Europe Logistics with various reports and analyses, providing visibility of key performance indicators of Sony's logistics operations, and driving continuous improvement activities (Kaizen). Becoming part of a larger platform, you will participate in the execution of defined logistics procedures and processes within agreed service levels. Throughout the placement, you will:

  • Prepare monthly accruals, forecasts and budgets to analyse performance within Logistics in Sony Europe.
  • Analyse the performance of demo products, V&S and various other departments and or countries.
  • Preparing daily and weekly sales and volume reports to supervise progress and enhance operational planning.
  • Analyse trends and patterns in delivery/customer profiles to support opportunities for cost-saving initiatives and sales & operational planning.
  • Support the development of our Logistics operational shipment volume forecasting tool.
  • Verify the accuracy of invoices received from logistics partners (Warehouses and Carriers) and be the first point of contact for Sony's logistic service providers.
  • 2. Strategic Planning Intern This role aims to provide an overview of the future financial outlook of Sony Europe alongside providing analytical and actionable insight to the senior management of broad finance divisions, such as the CFO, the Head of Corporate Planning, or the heads of business functional departments. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in advancing central initiatives, including sustainability projects. Throughout the placement, you will:
  • Consolidate financial reporting at the Sony Europe corporate level, including variance analysis and business insights.
  • Provide insight from analysis of financial Key Performance Indicators of Sony Europe to drive corporate-level initiatives.
  • Generate and deliver presentation on the above insights to senior management of the organisation.
  • Analyse the European macroeconomic situation and future outlooks.
  • Support project management of various corporate initiatives, involving high senior management exposure.
  • 3. Finance Strategy Planning and Communications Analyst Intern Becoming a member of not one, but two important teams within Global Finance & Accounting team (GFA EU | NA) - the Finance Project Support & Planning team and the GFA EU | NA Internal Communications team! On one hand, you will be reviewing the project objectives and results against key performance metrics, while on the other hand support communications strategies to engage, inspire, and connect employees with our purpose and values, key initiatives and projects. Throughout the placement, you will:
  • Coordinate updates to project status tracking including delivery against timelines, resources and cost, alongside the monthly reporting and analysis of performance, costs, and headcount.
  • Liaise with multiple partners to ensure the story behind the numbers is understood.
  • Support various projects by preparing cases and financial models to ensure objectives are met and projects are delivered according to defined guidelines and timelines.
  • Support in budget and forecast preparation and supervise performance to ensure adherence to financial targets.
  • Build monthly reports for the department, showcasing performance in both financial and non-financial critical metrics.
  • Contribute to the GFA EU | NA news agenda by coordinating or drafting articles related to e.g., key projects, personnel announcements, employee stories and administration of news posts.
  • Support internal event management and employee award cycle and manage our homepage.
  • 4. Financial Controller Intern You will be part of the Planning & Control Department and will support a team of controllers looking after the fixed costs of Sony Europe. Throughout the placement you will support:
  • Month-end close (working closely with Sony Global Finance & Accounting)
  • Monthly forecast and monthly cost allocation process
  • Business partner senior management of allocated business units
  • Monthly financial analysis and submission of financial bridges to management
  • Annual budgeting process
  • Projects to increase operational efficiencies and drive cost reduction

    Strong analytical skills and passion for dealing with large sets of data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate ideas and present sophisticated analyses to senior leaders.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, organised and inquisitive mentality.
  • Flair and excitement for new IT applications and software platforms.
  • Passion for technology and Sports (for sports-related roles).
  • Proficiency in MS Office (esp. Excel - Pivot tables, Lookups), knowledge of SAP or Power BI is advantageous.

    Throughout the recruitment process until your start date, there will be regular catch-up calls with the program coordinators and current interns to answer any questions and provide guidance and further information on your Sony journey. This will also allow you to connect with the other future interns who will form the 2025 Sony cohort and start building your network.
