Full Job Description
The Controller will drive results in the accounting functions that support a cluster of ledgers and countries for the segment EMEALA. Reporting through Controllership under the Chief Accounting and Tax Officer organization, this role will serve as an advisor to sub-region CFOs and business leaders, ensuring accounting and reporting integrity, effective controls, and compliance with US GAAP and Company policy.
You will lead the monitoring and reporting of financial results, aligning them with our long-term business objectives, and provide guidance, training, and support to various stakeholders on a variety of financial and accounting issues. How you will do it
Collaborate and Oversee Closings: Proactively work with business and operations teams to manage, review, and sign off on the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes. This includes reviewing key reserves, account reconciliations, and financial metric trends to ensure accuracy and identify potential gaps.
Implement Strong Controls: Ensure that robust controls are established and maintained for key projects like entity migrations and ERP implementations. Identify opportunities to streamline activities and drive their movement to the Center of Excellence (e.g., Record to Report), while standardizing processes. Work closely with cross-functional teams (technical accounting, governance, Record to Report, business unit finance, etc.) to foster a harmonized environment across the Controllership organization.
Monitor Internal Controls: Support and monitor the internal control function to ensure that controls within the represented cluster of countries are effective, efficient, and aligned with both company and local policies.
Participate in Cross-Functional Initiatives: Engage in cross-functional teams to support financial accounting, reporting, and control activities for complex transactions in the region, such as restructurings, supplier contracts, mergers and acquisitions, and leases.
Coach and Develop Teams: Collaborate with, coach, and oversee the Record to Report teams that manage the transactional details for each region. Build a talent pipeline within the Record to Report team to strengthen finance functions.
Align with Financial Planning: Engage with Financial Planning and Analysis teams regarding plans and forecasts to ensure alignment with business objectives, market opportunities, and execution capabilities, providing recommendations and direction to management.
Identify Opportunities: Proactively identify business and financial opportunities, proposing corrective actions and implementing them or communicating them to management for execution.
Provide Financial Leadership: Offer financial leadership, training, and guidance to financial and operational teams to enhance their skills for more effective management of responsibilities.
Assist Global Business Centers: Assist with all accounting activities performed at global business centers for centralized functions.
Enhance IT Systems: Support the development and improvement of IT financial and business systems to streamline operations.
Direct Team Objectives: Lead and direct your team to achieve the above objectives effectively. Set goals and conduct performance reviews for 1 or 2 direct reports, fostering their growth and their performance.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; or equivalent accounting certification (e.g., CPA).
Solid experience in finance and accounting, with a strong understanding of US GAAP or IFRS standards.
Proven track record of enhancing business performance through strategic financial insights and decision-making.
Advanced proficiency in financial reporting software, consolidation tools, and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated experience in managing and leading a team, including remote members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Preferred
Experience in both public accounting and industry settings is highly desirable.
Qualification CPA (Certified Public Accountant).
Experience with OneStream.
