Full Job Description

We are recruiting for a Finance Manager, reporting into the Finance Controller.

This senior role will lead a small number of colleagues within the Financial Accounts team, but act as a stakeholder for the Accounts Payable, FP&A and Commercial Finance teams. The individual will have primary responsibility for a significant proportion of the Profit and Loss Account, and the integrity of important Balance Sheet accounts.

Poundland & Dealz is a fast-growing business and, as part of the Financial Accounts team, the individual will also be involved in other areas of the team as and when required, plus supporting the strategic initiative underpinning the business 5 year plan.

  • Lead and develop a small number of colleagues in the Financial Accounts team, a mixture of graduate, part qualified and qualified accountants

  • Support the introduction of store level profit & loss accounts for the next financial year

  • Take responsibility for the output of a number of key Profit and Loss Accounts

  • Take ownership for a number of critical Balance Sheet reconciliations

  • Ensure that Balance Sheet control accounts are fully reconciled and that risks and opportunities are quantified and reported on a monthly basis

  • Support the continued optimisation of the new Oracle Finance system

  • Management of the sales ledger

  • Month end accruals and prepayments

  • Monthly, quarterly and annual Group reporting

  • Support on company VAT returns

  • Balance sheet variance analysis, investigation and resolution

  • Support for strategic initiatives

  • Business partnering a number of key stakeholders across both Finance (Accounts Payable and Commercial Finance) and outside of Finance (Retail, Property, Distribution, Trading etc), Postcode/Zip
