Full Job Description

Saga Travel Group are looking to recruit a Finance Manager, to join us, helping to shape the future of our operational finance function. You will own the transactional processes, providing timely and accurate management information with insightful performance commentary for use in Board reporting and partnering with key budget holders. With responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the transactional team, you'll be leading on outputs, controls, and system/process improvements. It's an exciting time to join Saga's Finance community as we work through the implementation of Workday for our general ledger. Reporting into the Head of Operational Finance you will lead your team of 3 through this change as we drive to continually improve. We work in a hybrid way at Saga both at home and in the office. As our Finance Manager you will be required to attend our Ashford, Kent office once a week to collaborate with the wider Saga Travel Group Finance Team.Role Responsibility In this varied role, you would lead your team in transactional finance and financial review/reconciliations, all while working with a process improvement mindset. Responsibilities will include:

  • Producing statistics in invoice processing times and report each week
  • Ensure suppliers reclaims and AR debtors collected and report progress to the Head of Finance
  • Analysis of purchase order compliance and reporting where this hasn't been adhered to
  • Review passenger debt report and share information with stakeholders where there is overdue debt
  • Review aged creditors ensuring there is no duplication of invoices.
  • Running and checking bookings reports
  • Month end processing work including posting and checking credit card statements, Pax2pay statements
  • Analysis of flight costs to margin report and report Variances and causes of these for investigation
  • Analysis of actuals against margin report and correcting and reporting errors to the team where required
  • Balance sheet reconciliations of all bank accounts and debtors as well as ensuring that there are no old items on there.
  • Cancellation cost analysis - ensure costs have been accurately accounted for and accrue where required
  • Being the main part of the AP automation project and work with external stakeholder to provide the information for testing.
  • Be part of the project team implementing the booking process change checking details are captured to ensure smooth payment process.

    As our Finance Manager we are looking for you to be able to blend the technical skills with leadership skills to help drive the transactional team forward
  • Fully qualified accountant
  • Can demonstrate expert knowledge on Excel
  • A critical thinker and able to analyse financial data and balance sheets
  • Can demonstrate previous Business Partnering skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Can quickly learn and understand travel reporting regulations
