Full Job Description

This role is pivotal in managing the accounting functions across the Harrods store, online business, and international operations, including airports and wholesale. The Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and continuous process improvements within the finance function.

You will also be responsible for:

Management Accounting -

Lead the production of the monthly management accounts pack for the Retail Group, including sales margins, payroll, and other operating costs down to EBITDA.
Produce the weekly P&L flash report by day 1 of every week.
Manage and control the month-end close process and cost centre P&L reporting.
Conduct capex reporting and analysis, and investigate variances against budgets.

Financial Accounting -

Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, resolving any discrepancies promptly.
Liaise with external auditors during interim and final audits, resolving any queries.

Business Partnering -

Provide effective support to stakeholders in indirect cost areas to ensure business objectives are met.
Maintain strong relationships with the FP&A team and provide support in overlapping areas.

Leadership & Development -

Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.
Inspire, motivate, and develop a high-calibre finance team.

You will be a highly qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with extensive post-qualification experience in management accounting. You will also have a solid background in both practice and commerce, with a preference for those with retail experience. You should possess strong leadership abilities, demonstrated by a proven track record of successfully leading and developing teams to achieve business objectives., Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage both finance and non-financial staff.
Strong time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
High level of PC literacy (Word, Excel); experience with SAP is an advantage.
Strong work ethic with a sense of urgency and excellent attention to detail.
