Full Job Description

As a Purchase to Pay Finance Officer, you will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the Finance community to deliver high quality financial processes and support to NHS England and the wider NHS.

Completing key supplier consolidations and reconciliations.
Preparing, submitting and approving month end journals.
Working with the regions to reduce the number of non-PO invoices and invoice holds using BI reporting tools.
Undertaking monthly and year end accounting tasks to support month end and year end processes.
Assisting with the NHS Agreement of Balances exercise in accordance with the guidance issued by DHSC and NHSE.
Working alongside other teams to provide key financial information to enable appropriate actions to be taken to ensure NHS England transactions are accurate and timely.
Best practice and process improvement for core transacting processes
Other tasks as required by the Transacting team.

The Finance and Planning Directorate in NHS England is looking for talented, diverse, highly motivated people. The Transacting team is now recruiting for a Purchase to Pay Finance Officer.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be at the heart of work to support the NHS. We:

work closely with government to agree NHS funding;
ensure the NHS lives within its annual budget set by Parliament;
decide how to distribute the funding to the different NHS services and parts of England;
support innovative programmes that improve the care and experience of NHS patients or people using NHS services;
set out the financial and performance priorities the NHS should be delivering each year;
report how much the NHS has spent on providing services each year;
explore how the NHS can make the best use of its money;
look at how spend on building or equipment can improve the care and experience of people using NHS services.
consider how nationally we use these resources to improve healthcare outcomes, reduce inequality, improve health and support the NHS.
