Full Job Description

  • Budget Management: Assist in preparing, monitoring, and managing the school's budget
  • in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Financial Administration: Process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and
  • efficiently.
  • Reporting: Prepare financial reports for governors, auditors, and the leadership team.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial policies, audit requirements, and
  • relevant regulations.
  • Payroll: Responsible for accurate completion and validity of payroll returns for the
  • payment of all salaries and wages.
  • Procurement: Manage contracts and supplier relationships to achieve value for money.

    Are you a detail-oriented finance professional looking to make a difference in education? Hempsted Church of England Primary School is seeking a dedicated and organised Finance Officer to join our friendly and supportive team., Ideally, we are looking for someone with experience in school finances; however training will be offered depending on the need of the successful candidate. More importantly, we are looking for someone who is calm, friendly, reliable and has the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people who have an interest in our school. Additionally, a high level of confidentiality and the ability to work independently are important to this role.
  • The successful candidate should:
  • have a minimum of NVQ3 or equivalent
  • have GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English
  • be IT literate with a good understanding of Excel and other Office programmes
  • have successful experience of administration work in a school office
  • have excellent organisational skills

    This is a permanent contract for 22.5 hours a week and is term time only plus INSET days. The hours of work will be Monday to Friday, from 8.30am to 1pm each day.
