Finance Officer School Transport and School Capital

The Education Support Service is an extremely busy area with high levels of demand. We deal with all financial aspects relating to Home to School Transport and School Capital.
The Finance Officer will support the Head of Service and School Admissions Transport Manager with the monitoring of the Home to School Transport and School Capital budget throughout the year. This will include supporting the monthly forecast reporting of the financial position throughout the year.
They will also be expected to process and reconcile all payments relating to school transport and school capital. The role will require the monitoring of school attendance using available systems to ensure the correct payments are made in a timely manner.
The officer will be the first point of contact for all payment queries for all stakeholders.
We are looking for candidates who have excellent Excel skills, the ability analyse data as well as support the budget forecast and to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including members of the public.
A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required, and at a basic level.
