Full Job Description

This exciting role will be the Finance Partner to both the VP of Quality Engineering & Labs, and Senior Director of CMC Tech, including their global leadership teams. This highly visible role will also partner closely with senior R&D Finance stakeholders (notably the Senior Director R&D Pharma Finance and their LT). You will be responsible for Tech's related operating budget, and the management of R&D's capital portfolio of technology investments. You will be involved in driving financial performance, investment decisions, and acting as an independent voice across all aspects of this function., You will have full oversight of QE Labs & CMC Tech and report to the Finance Director R&D Digital & Tech. Success in this role will require an experienced Finance Partner with strong stakeholder management, strategic insight, rigorous analysis, proactive challenge and exceptional execution.,

  • Finance Partnering & Financial Leadership
  • + Partner with the VP of Quality Engineering & Labs, and Senior Director CMC Tech, on commercial, financial, and strategic matters, often addressing ad-hoc issues without precedent. + Operate as the financial leader for QE Labs & CMC Tech, providing structure and long- and short-term insights to a group of highly technical senior leaders. + Deliver analysis and insights linking financial and business strategy, including performance assessments and operational risk identification.
  • Decision Support
  • + Provide financial and strategic advice to Tech and R&D leaders, aligning resources to pipeline value, enhance capabilities, or deliver savings. + Facilitate stakeholder dialogue with clear, visualised options and analysis.
  • Influence and Relationship Building
  • + Forge partnerships with Digital & Tech management and multiple senior R&D Finance leaders, demonstrating business understanding. + Build high-trust relationships with Tech and Finance leaders, having a voice at the leadership table.
  • Financial Management and Governance
  • + Ensure Opex and Capex budgets are controlled and delivered to target. + Providing financial updates, support and guidance on prioritisation decisions, acceleration opportunities and planning approach. + Interpret monthly results through a financial lens to understand drivers and impact of commercial decisions. + Work with the function to prepare and consolidate global budgets and forecasts - including actions plans to achieve required savings, insightful commentary and timely identification of risks and opportunities., We believe in an agile working culture for all our roles.   • Hold a finance professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CPA, MBA)
  • Significant demonstrable finance partnering experience in a commercial context (to senior non finance customers)
  • Prior experience of financial analysis, forecasting, planning and decision support
  • Preferred Qualifications & Skills: Please note the following skills are not necessary, just preferred, if you do not have them, please still apply:
  • Experience with Technology investments would be a plus
