The role is flexible in terms of working from the office, various locations throughout the County and home working.

This is an established role within the Financial Accounting Team of the Finance Department, to underpin the delivery of the Force objectives, ensuring statutory and regulatory financial requirements are achieved to the required standard.

This permanent position is well suited to an individual that is looking to enhance their career in finance and gain hands-on experience in a thriving and supportive team.

Based within the Financial Accounting team, you will work closely with all areas of finance as well as wider departments, being on hand to provide technical guidance as required, whilst also being mindful of the governance arrangements that exist in public sector organisations, which allow the Force to maintain the confidence of its stakeholders.

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the production of year end statutory accounts and accompanying working papers to enable a smooth and efficient audit process.

  • Capital accounting, including maintenance of the fixed asset register, ensuring effective liaison with departments managing the assets.

  • Pension fund accounting in accordance with regulations and the provision of statutory returns to third parties.

    AAT or part qualified CCAB with 3 years post qualification experience.

  • Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

  • Knowledge and experience of preparing year end accounts and capital accounting., Disability Confident
