Full Job Description

Role of Financial Accountant within the Corporate Finance Team responsible for a number of areas including preparation of financial accounts, charitable fund accounts, VAT and ensuring sound financial governance., An opportunity has arisen for the post of Financial Accountant in the Corporate Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who has energy, enthusiasm, commitment and ambition to work within the finance team. The post holder will be a key member of the Finance team supporting the Corporate Finance function. The post holder will be responsible for managing the functions, performance, staff and other resources within the Financial Accounts Section, covering:

  • Financial Accounting including responsibility for year-end accounts, monthly monitoring returns, charitable funds, accounting for losses (including medical negligence and personal injury claims), VAT etc.
  • Working closely with the systems & governance and capital teams.
  • They will support the Senior Finance Manager - Financial Accounts in the management of the financial accountancy section and deputise in internal and external groups when required e.g. All-Wales groups. The post holder will have the full range of line management responsibilities over a number of team members in the section and will be involved in any recruitment activity within the department, including the role of recruiting officer for many of the posts.
