Financial Accountant

Reporting to our Finance Director, you'll manage both management and financial reporting, influence commercial decisions, and play an integral role in driving business improvement. This position offers a unique chance to develop a broad range of skills and advance your career, making it ideal for a qualified (or qualified by experience) accountant ready for the next step., Attend senior management meetings and represent the Finance Director when needed
- Prepare monthly management accounts and insightful board/management reporting packs
- Act as a proactive business partner to support margin management and corporate overheads
- Oversee cash flow, cash forecasting, and work closely with the sales and purchase ledger teams
- Handle year-end financial statements, liaising with external auditors to meet deadlines
- Prepare company taxation returns (VAT, corporation tax, R&D tax claims, etc.)
- Collaborate with senior management to produce budgets and forecasts, maintaining a live forecast
- Drive the development of enhanced management reporting and analysis
- Manage monthly balance sheet reconciliations, payroll checks, and internal audits
- Oversee the company fixed asset register in compliance with IFRS16

Essential:
- Strong experience in financial accounting
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and organised with strong problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Excel, with the ability to challenge and drive improvements
- Skilled communicator, able to explain financial concepts to non-accountants
- Fully qualified accountant or qualified by experience

Desirable:
- Experience producing statutory accounts
- Knowledge of statutory reporting and taxation
- Background in monthly financial reporting
