  • Improve service efficiency and performance, To carry out financial assessments and process financial and customer information onto the social care case management system considering the current state benefit rules, ensuring accuracy, fairness and security of information in line with the Data Protection Act.
  • Proactively maximise client contributions through regular monitoring/reviewing, communicating with customers of all ages and disabilities.
  • Work in collaboration with Client Contributions Income Monitoring Officers to support the recovery of Adult Social Care debt.
  • Provide support and input regarding Department of Works and Pensions annual benefit increases and calculations.
  • Support customers with debt by sign posting to voluntary and community sector organisations or recognised qualified debt specialist for independent support.
  • Identify and investigate discrepancies of financial irregularities or disputes that may suggest financial abuse and liaise with Safeguarding on any issues that cause concern.
  • Provide advice and guidance in care charges and the financial assessment process to internal/external professionals, agencies and customers.

We offer an exciting opportunity in Adult Social Care for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable individual committed to effective team working to join our Financial Assessment and Charging Team. To provide a high-level service in undertaking financial assessments to customers in receipt of community based and residential/nursing home care services under statutory rules and to ensure necessary support in terms of finances, safeguarding and welfare is given to the customer or their representative in accordance with the Care Act 2014.,
  • Experience of working in Adult Social Care financial assessment and debt environment for residential and community care.
  • Working knowledge and experience engaging with customers in Adult Social Care finance administration.
  • Excellent IT skills, work with multiple information systems and manipulate data with confidence.
  • Be confident in making critical decisions.
  • Have the ability to work with minimal supervision, work to deadlines, and prioritise workloads.
  • Post holder will have a hybrid of office, remote and home working., This post is covered by the Government's Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers. The post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.
