Full Job Description

Cheshire West and Chester Council has a vacancy for a Financial Assessment Debt Review Officer within their Client Finance Team. This permanent role would suit an experienced, motivated, and passionate financial assessment officer and will involve working alongside recovery officers to develop more effective processes to prevent debt, due to non-payment of social care charges occurring by addressing non-payment at an early stage. This role does involve visiting people in their own homes so having a full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role
The Client Finance Team provides the financial expertise to undertake means tested financial assessment outcomes to residents who receive social care support. These roles sit alongside our financial assessment and debt management officers, to review financial assessment outcomes to:

Prevent financially vulnerable residents falling into problem debt by identifying and supporting them at an early stage.
Consistently resolve non-payment of care invoices to agreed standards.
Assist in the enforced recovery where proportionate and appropriate.
Identify opportunities to resolve debt more efficiently and effectively.
You will have

experience of working within an administrative discipline and have data analysis and report writing skills.
the ability to work calmly under pressure and manage multiple processes at any one time.
a proven track record of providing means tested financial assessment outcomes in a fast paced and pressurised environment.
Excellent customer service skills and have experience of visiting people in their own homes., Disability Confident
