Full Job Description

Responsible for the efforts and results of the finance department. Reporting to the Financial Director (FD) in regard to all financial and accounting activities. Overseeing accounts department staff in day-to-day operations.,

  • Provide all financial information as required by the Board of Directors, including full monthly management accounts and statutory accounts.

  • Prepare accurate and timely annual financial plans, budgets and monthly outlooks and forecasts.

  • Create monthly and annual reports to identify results and trends.

  • Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports.

  • Responsible for successful processing of transactions each month for General Ledger, Sales Ledger and Purchase ledger. Ensure monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet control accounts.


  • Leading and managing the finance team, fostering an open, inclusive and progressive culture.

  • Implement improvements with internal controls and processes.

  • Management of relationship with external parties -including but not limited to tax advisors, auditors, bank, insurance, and pension advisors.

  • Assist the FD in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members.

  • Supervision of payroll function to ensure timely reporting for PAYE, P11D, PSA etc.

  • Perform all Company Secretarial duties, including submission of all regulatory returns.

  • Review of quarterly VAT returns.

  • Responsible for the control, recording and reporting on Capital Expenditure.

  • Oversee financial projects.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

    Qualified accountant (e.g. ACA / ACCA / CIMA).

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Practical experience of producing accounts and management information and reports on a timely basis in a modern business environment.

  • Strong communication skills including the ability to communicate with all levels of the business, from shop floor to Director level.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Excellent Excel skills and the ability to manipulate significant amounts of data.

  • Experience of managing others and working as part of a team.

  • Self-motivation and commitment as well as enthusiasm in supporting new processes and change.
