Financial Controller

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to guide our financial strategy and operations, especially critical as we pursue aggressive international expansion. This senior role demands an individual capable of ensuring financial compliance across global markets, managing our financial systems and processes, and fostering relationships with external financial partners, including our third-party accountancy firm. Responsibilities

• Financial Operations Management
• Oversee the invoicing process for direct and agent bookings, handling manual enrolments, and managing payment plans and scholarships with precision
• Act as the primary contact for our third-party accountancy firm
• Payroll management of both permanent and seasonal staff
• Ensure all expenditure is categorised correctly each month
• Credit Control and Payment Processing
• Implement stringent credit control measures, monitor late payments diligently, and manage deposit refunds and payment disputes, ensuring financial health and compliance.
• Manage the team expense approval policy and handle incoming invoice payments
• Oversee expenditure and identify cost saving opportunities
• Financial Reporting and Support
• Deliver comprehensive monthly financial reports to management,
• Assist with queries from employees
• Promote a culture of financial transparency and accountability
• Conduct bi-annual internal expense audits
• International Compliance
• Contribute to the company's international expansion efforts by ensuring financial operations comply with regulations in new markets
• Liaise with local financial consultants and regulatory bodies as necessary
• Manage foreign exchange transactions and managing revenue and internal transfers between several currencies
  
  Minimum of 5 years of experience in a finance or operations role.
• A proven track record of managing complex financial processes and contributing to financial strategy and compliance.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field / or professional accounting qualification
• Desirable : Professional qualification(s) such as ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent
• Essential : Experience in transitioning or managing financial software tools and platforms, specifically familiarity with Quickbooks Online
• Advantageous : Familiarity with Stripe
• Advantageous : Experience using Payhawk
• Advantageous : Experience using Salesforce
• Strong analytical, organisational and multitasking skills.
