Full Job Description

We currently have an opportunity available for someone to join the Enabling Functions Finance team as a Financial controller IT Services. The suitable candidate will be an experienced accountant with a background of a large, complex organisation or a professional services firm. They will be required to work closely with senior stakeholders within the functions and be responsible for the accuracy of the financial statements at month end close and year end. They should be comfortable conveying financial information to stakeholders across the firm outside the Enabling Functions leadership team.,

  • Maximise usage of Global Delivery Centre (GFS) - including management of their performance


  • Drive self service through operational management teams - utilising Service now and GFS


  • Month end close on time with a high degree of accuracy to include:-


  • Liaising with Business Finance team to ensure accuracy and challenge of Accruals / Prepayments


  • Work with Business finance on in month results reporting


  • Production of Estimates for Business Finance to use in Monthly reports


  • Balance sheet reconciliations (including review and approval of Excel templates and Blackline) providing full insight on balances and any risks


  • Management of 1 permanent member of staff and 1 indirect GFS resource once allocated.


  • Ensure that at IT assets and leases are accounted for correctly under IFRS and ensure that governance and sign off procedures are robust and adhered to


  • Standardisation of accounting processes where possible


  • Review and challenge all cost transfers as appropriate


  • Driving a strong Financial Control environment to comply with internal and external best practice

    · Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with relevant experience.


  • · Strong commercial experience with the ability to see beyond the confines of the traditional Finance area.

    · Demonstrates relationship management skills and ability to challenge and influence decision making among senior stakeholders.

    · Significant experience managing a large and complex set of stakeholders.

    The role will be responsible for Financial control of Information Technology Services spanning three related areas, Technology & Digital Services and two areas of Central Business Services , notably Infrastructure and IT Business Services which operate across all of our UK offices.

    Enabling Functions are Deloitte's engine room and is made up of all the parts that are necessary in order to keep the firm running.
