Full Job Description

  • Manage finance processes around month end close and balance sheet substantiation
  • Clear documentation of workings to ensure adequate justification
  • Suggesting improvements to process to improve efficiency and control
  • Reconciling to a high standard on a monthly basis, and proactively following up on any reconciling items
  • Identify financial risks and address these accordingly
  • Resolving financial queries

  • Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders
  • Understand accounting in financial services, in particular double entry
  • Experience of working within a finance function and supporting as usual(BAU) activities
  • An awareness of journal and balance sheet reconciliation preparation
  • Assist with adhoc projects and duties as requested within the wider finance team

    It would be fantastic if you are studying towards a professional accountancy qualification such as ACCA/CIMA etc (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with data and confident with Microsoft Office, in particular Microsoft Excel
