Financial Service Lawyer - London

We are looking for a talented private funds lawyer to join our Financial Services team in London. The role will involve a mix of "City" and international work. As an integral part of our Financial Services team you will provide advice to clients and colleagues and undertake or provide support on a wide variety of transactions. The private funds team's clients include major GPs and LPs. The broader Financial Services team also advises asset managers, depositaries, wealth managers, administrators, insurance companies, banking and other financial institutions and family offices. As an integral part of our Financial Services team you will have opportunities to be involved in a number of client relationships (in many cases having daily day to day contact) with opportunities for secondment. There will be a focus on establishing and supporting alternative investment funds, structured primarily as closed-end funds and limited partnerships, as well as advising on various contracts particular to the asset management industry and associated regulation.

We are seeking applications from Lawyers with 2-4 years post qualification experience. You will have experience with working in a private funds team. Ideally the successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate the following skills:

• Has experience supporting a team launching private funds.
• Demonstrates skill and competence on transactional work and advising on commercial contracts.
• Has awareness of financial services regulation.
• Has the ability to take into consideration the commercial impact of advice when applying technical expertise to decisions.
• Demonstrates good networking skills and an ability to build strong client relationships.
• Maintains a breadth of view despite specialisation.
• Has a commitment of delivering quality client service.
• Maintains an ability to manage a heavy workload and the competing demands of clients which arise from running a number of separate transactions at once
• Demonstrates initiative and an ability to take ownership for own workload
• Builds great relationships with colleagues within the team and in other areas
• Demonstrates an ability to work as an integral part of a team
• Has a keen sense of drive and enthusiasm for the role
• Has a willingness to stay on top of legal and regulatory developments and works with the team on briefings and other know-how projects
