We are seeking a skilled Fire alarm Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining fire protection systems in various environments. This role requires a strong understanding of lighting and fire regulations. The Fire alarm Engineer will ensure that all fire safety measures meet regulatory standards and provide optimal protection.   • Be honest, Install and upgrade fire alarm systems in commercial and residential buildings
  • Test and repair alarm systems, including fire sprinkler valves and smoke control systems
  • Ensure alarms are installed according to code
  • Troubleshoot or document any issues
  • Ensure systems comply with electrical and fire codes
  • Un wiring and circuits, and attach electrical wires
  • Install hardware and replace malfunctioning hardware.
  • Use building plans to determine proper systems to install.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on fire alarm systems
  • Program fire alarm systems using software
  • Have a strong understanding of the fire and emergency light regulations
  • Keep accurate records of all fire alarm system inspections and repairs
  • Design and develop fire protection systems tailored to specific project requirements
  • Conduct thorough assessments of existing fire safety systems and recommend improvements or upgrades
  • Collaborate with other engineers to integrate fire safety measures into building designs
  • Prepare detailed drawings
  • Perform system testing and inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Utilise hand tools and power tools for the installation and maintenance of fire protection equipment.
  • Provide technical support and training to staff regarding fire safety protocols and equipment usage
  • Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and regulations related to fire safety engineering

    Experience in system designs
  • Familiarity with electrical systems relevant to fire safety applications.
  • Competence in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in the fire and security experience

The candidate must have a clean driving license and is able to commute to Salisbury (within 1 hour of the office) The position is full time Monday- Friday 08:30- 17:00. You will be based at our Salisbury office and you will be required to carry out work in Salisbury and the surrounding areas If you are successful at the interview, you must be able to provide:
  • A five-year background history for security clearance
  • ID documents for PNC & Enhanced DBS checks
  • Job Type: Full-time Pay: Up to £45,000.00 per year Education:
  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
