Full Job Description

The Fire and Life Safety Advisor is responsible for supporting the client in ensuring the safety and compliance of buildings and facilities with fire codes, regulations, and best practices. They provide facilities-related guidance and support to clients in implementing fire prevention measures, emergency response procedures, and maintaining a safe environment for occupants. The role will be responsible for supporting the client portfolio throughout the EMEA region and will be based in London.,

  • Emergency Response Preparedness: Collaborate with clients to support the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures, including evacuation protocols, fire drills, and training programs for occupants.

  • Training and Education: The Fire and Life Safety Advisor will aid in training JLL employees on Fire and Life Safety requirements as established by the client.

  • Fire Incident Investigation: Conduct investigations into fire incidents and document findings to determine the root causes, identify corrective actions, and prevent similar incidents in the future.

  • Risk Mitigation: Coordinate and assign tasks within a work unit and/or project, to property and engineering management regarding changes and their impact. Identify fire and life safety risks and recommend appropriate measures to mitigate them, such as fire suppression system upgrades, improved smoke detection, or changes to building layouts.

  • Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with fire protection system vendors, maintenance contractors, and other suppliers to ensure proper installation, testing, and maintenance of fire safety equipment and systems.

  • Reporting and Documentation: Proactive monitoring of the fire and life safety system will be required, ensuring all relevant documentation and information is uploaded by the Facility Managers. Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to fire and life safety inspections, incidents, risk assessments, and compliance activities.

    NEBOSH Fire Certificate and/or other accredited courses from institutions like the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) or the Fire Industry Association (FIA).

  • Previous experience in similar fire and life safety roles

  • Strong understanding of fire protection systems, emergency evacuation procedures, and fire prevention strategies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively educate and engage clients and building occupants.

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work independently., A degree or diploma in Fire and Life Safety Engineering, Fire Science, Fire Safety Management, or a related field is highly desirable.

  • Professional Certification such as Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) qualifications, which include the Diploma in Fire Engineering (DipFE) or the Certificate in Fire Risk Assessment and Consultancy (CertFRAC).

  • Previous experience in an enforcement or consultancy role.
