SFRS are looking for 1 person to carry out the tole of the Business Education Officer. This role offers a pay at Firefighter grade, plus 10%, they will also receive Surrey allowance and be paid in accordance with Grey Book terms and conditions. The additional 10%, reflects the specialist nature of the role, requirement to work flexibly and to maintain operational competence including fitness. We are excited to be hiring a new Business Education Officer to join our fantastic Community Resilience team, based at Farnham Fire Station. This role is part of the Surrey Fire & Rescue Service, and is a front line support service in a specialist area working as necessary with volunteers, community, professional groups and local organisations to ensure provision of a service. About the Team The Business Safety Team manages Safe & Well Visits in the community, protection policies, and the SFRS Risk-Based Inspection Programme amongst others. About the Role This role will involve the planning and organising as a key element, mainly in terms of planning own time, and prioritising for the weeks ahead. Although most work will follow established patterns, initiative is needed to resolve problems and queries based on experience and judgement, mainly without reference to others, but with access to clear guidance. The position is based at Farnham fire station, and there is a requirement to engage with businesses within the south-west area of Surrey. Access to a vehicle will be given on a pool car basis, therefore a full driving licence is required.
