Full Job Description

Ealing Council have an exciting new full-time, permanent position for a Fire Safety Manager. Our housing asset management team is dedicated to ensuring decent, healthy, and sustainable homes for the future of our community. The Fire Safety Manager role is responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Order 2005, and other relevant regulations and standards across the council's existing housing stock (10,000 dwellings). As the Fire Safety Manager you will:

  • ensure all completed certification is quality control checked for accuracy and uploaded to Ealing's Compliance Management System in a timely manner.
  • provide an accurate compliance position across the portfolio by managing all operational, regulatory, and statutory compliance for all Fire Safety systems and equipment.
  • commission, review, and monitor fire risk assessments for all facilities in accordance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and relevant guidance.
  • draft, review, and implement Fire Strategy Documents and resident Fire Safety Information Packs for all buildings within the portfolio.
  • develop and monitor policies and procedures related to fire safety.
  • review and advise on departmental local procedures and processes relating to fire safety.
  • liaise with the Fire and Rescue Service, responding to formal notices and requests for information., Ealing Council have an exciting new full-time, permanent position for a Fire Safety Manager.   • Our ideal Fire Safety Manager will have skills and experience that includes:
  • Relevant qualifications and/or professional memberships such as NEBOSH, IOSH, Fire Safety Management, FPA, or Institute of Fire Engineers Diploma, or equivalent
  • Recognised qualification in Building Management of Fire Safety (e.g., CIOB Level 6 Building Safety Management, BSc Fire Safety & Risk Management) or equivalent
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
  • Significant experience in a technical role related to fire safety, ideally in a similar position in delivering key landlord fire compliance.
  • Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of Fire Safety Regulations, the Building Safety Act, new build design, and related Health & Safety Regulations and emerging government policies.
