Full Job Description
Join our awesome team of building and safety professionals! You'll manage on site works to successful completion through pre and post inspection. You'll ensure work is delivered in accordance with Building Regulations, good practice and fire safety standards. If you're excited about making sure that our customers' experience is at the heart of everything you do, this could be your perfect next step! Typical day as a Fire Safety Surveyor
- Carrying out pre and post inspections of fire risk actions carried out by contractors and colleagues. You'll also respond promptly to actions identified, specifying works required to correct standards.
- Providing technical advice and support to our trades, maintenance managers, subcontractors and suppliers so we deliver a high-quality, cost-effective and compliant service.
- Contract management including progress against building works schedules. Utilising customer insight to support us in delivering on our customer promise.
- Ensuring all works carried out meet health and safety standards with zero tolerance taken to non-compliance.
- Overseeing our Fire Safety Contractors who maintain our Active Fire Systems and managing any related systems or issues

- Working Monday to Friday, you'll shape your own diary around work, customers' and your own commitments.
- Based around the southern side of the M25, the patch covers South West and South East London, as well as parts of Surrey, Berkshire, and Kent, with occasional travel beyond the M25.
- This is a community-based role and when you are not out and about you will spend time catching up either from home or in a local office.
- You are confident using technology for updating records, budget and KPI management, completing online learning and collaborating with other colleagues.
- You'll need a Standard DBS check done and we pay for that.
- You drive and have access to your own vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we pay you for that use and your mileage.
Building surveying experience including property condition and Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) actions and specifying remedial works. - Current knowledge of building repairs, construction and safety.
- Able to manage, control budgets and expenditure.

- A self-starter approach, able to work unsupervised to manage your own patch, working commercially to deliver our programmes of work on time and to budget.
- You'll act quickly when things go wrong, take ownership and are accountable to put things 'right first time' through collaborative working.
- In an ideal world, you will also hold RICS or have a CIOB professional registration or are working towards this. Due to limits on our current certificates of sponsorship, we are not able to offer sponsorship to external candidates for this role. You'll join David's team of surveyors and there will be 6 of us all together. David has worked for Home Group for 6 years and knows the organisation inside out.
