Full Job Description
We are recruiting a Fire and Security Operative to join our Fire and Security team, based in Ely. You will join a dedicated team of 6 responsible for carrying out routine maintenance, repairs and installation on life safety and security systems such as Fire Alarms, Emergency Lighting, CCTV, warden call and door access, ensuring the properties are safe and compliant. This role includes a company van and you will cover different areas across East Anglia and the South East region.
The role of Fire and Security Operative will include:
- Carrying out the servicing, remedial works and installation of fire alarms, extinguishers and security systems, including warden call
- Maintaining systems including fire alarms, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, fire shutters and curtains to ensure safe and compliant properties
- Resolving problems or setting into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
- Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and stocks are replenished as needed
Do you have experience working with Fire and Security systems? If so, this could be the role for you!, To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to City & Guilds qualification, or NVQ 3 in relevant trade is desirable. FIA industry standard qualifications, Electrical 18th Edition wiring regulations, Safe Isolation, Small Works Certificate, or currently undertaking the qualification. If you have a lower level qualification along with practical experience and would be prepared to undertake this qualification with the support of Sanctuary Group, we would still welcome an application
- Experience of undertaking a similar role, working in a fire and security environment
- Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
- Knowledge of analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence, Disability Confident
