Full Job Description

We currently have an opportunity to join a hardworking team dedicated to providing vital Checkpoint firewall protection to the organisation's networks. As a Shift Member within of this team, you'll be key to implementing change requests, supporting the business through network incidence response and advising on the best course of action to achieve the goals of our internal business teams. The Shift Member is a key role within our firewall infrastructure team, within Network Technologies, Group CIO. Its primary responsibilities are implementing changes and supporting & remediating service issues, all whilst working as part of a team under a Shift Lead engineer. The position will play a role in delivering service improvements and develop new ways of working through automation initiatives, thereby improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our organisation. Daily activities

  • Planning the implementation of sophisticated changes
  • Delivering changes of all sizes and complexities for our customers
  • Monitoring the estate and working with colleagues across the wider IT community to identify and close-down service issues
  • Incident response related to our Firewalls, fault finding and investigation of bank issues.
  • BAU team tasks supporting daily operations of the team and business.
  • This role is based on a rotating shift pattern including days and nights.

  • Technical capability, shown through being CCSE/CCSA certified or qualified through experience with Checkpoint Firewalls. Ideally you would also have a range of wider Cisco Networks skills and knowledge.
  • Larger enterprise environment experience, showing the ability to work being hands on with the devices to planning changes or working through control processes
  • Good communications skills as well as being able to address technical challenges in what can be driven environments are also crucial
  • Understanding of Jira and Agile working practices
  • Automation skills would also be advantageous!
  • Any experience of these would be really useful Whilst not crucial to have previously worked in Financial Services, having knowledge of regulated environments would be favourable.
