Full Job Description
Following an exciting internal promotion, we're looking for a dynamic and motivated First Line Manager to lead day-to-day operations within one of our specialist teams (Hazardous products). In this key role, you'll collaborate closely with Team Leaders, guiding and supporting a diverse group of operatives, administrators, and leaders to ensure smooth operations and exceptional performance.,
- As the first line manager based within our hazardous products stores, you will beconducting management, team and line manager briefings to ensure the team arefully aware of activities
- Managing the team will also includeundertaking Absence and discipline management activities as required
- Using your skills to mentor/coach staff and support peersand develop the team through thecompletion of Conduct Performance Plans and Reviews (PPRs), to ensure succession planning/talent managementis in place.
- You will be an Ambassador for Quality andactively participate in continuous quality improvements, including drivingchanges in quality gates and culture.
- To ensure the warehouse is delivering againstcustomer requirements you will undertake effective Resource Utilisation,Planning and Management activities as required.
- Responsible for effective and efficientOperational Area Management as applicable and as required.
- Ensuring compliance of the operation to the Qualitysystems, industry standards and legal requirements
Logistics management experience in a large fast moving environment - Understanding of warehouse practices e.g. picking, loading
- Dangerous goods regulation trained (IATA/ADR/IMDG/SEA&ROAD) would be advantageous
- Drive, determination and a track record in delivering continuous improvement
- Ability to influence, negotiate and deal with conflict successfully
