Full Job Description

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, First Line Manager Logistics will provide daily operational support as part of the current Logistics FLM team for a day shift. Responsible for operational improvements that will include VPO routine management and implementation, process optimization, project execution and improvement of procedures. You will be a key contact for all business-critical projects within the department. You will balance the continuous search for new improved ways of working, together with the implementing agreed ways of working to ensure their sustainability, whilst being responsible for the department KPI's. Primary focus will be on understanding, supporting and improving all main operational KPI's whilst supporting overall continuous improvement of the logistics department. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Daily, weekly, and monthly follow up to ensure stable and sustainable processes to achieve KPIs.
  • Take ownership for implementing systems and ways of working to overachieve on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Supporting department operation performance through daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs
  • Leading improvement initiatives including minor projects.
  • Facilitating and managing Capex projects within the logistics department on time in full.
  • Ensuring compliance with corporate standards within department.
  • Flexibility to cover shift FLM roles & responsibilities as part of ASH cover if required.

    Appropriate technical qualification for local region.
  • Degree educated (or has similar operation experience).
  • Experience of holding teams accountable for delivery of Company targets.
  • Experience of dealing with employee relations and managing significant change.
  • Experience of warehousing in a management or supervisory role.
  • Experience of good knowledge of manufacturing principles, tools and techniques.
  • Good record of delivering process improvement.
  • Good knowledge of project management principles.
  • Sound knowledge of the logistics transport, warehousing processes.
  • Strong organization skills; adheres to deadlines.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer skills (Excel, Powerpoint, MS Project etc).
  • Leadership skills and strong level of flexibility.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Good listener, with the ability to quickly gain rapport and trust across all levels.
  • Strong influencer, able to challenge management and staff where appropriate.
  • Charismatic and dynamic, someone who will walk the floor and talk openly to staff, able to motivate and inspire.
  • Highly results focused, and with a strong attention to detail.
  • Highly structured and systematic approach to delivering business solutions.
  • Excellent team player, able to develop strong relationships with colleagues and peers.
