Fitness Instructor

This is an exciting opportunity for a Fitness Instructor to join Edge Hill Sport Department, Edge Hill Sport is the universities sports service run on behalf of Edge Hill University. Working in close partnership with Student Union and the Academic Sport Department, its aim is to deliver a programme of activities in highly quality facilities for the benefit of a wide range of stakeholders including students, staff, community, local schools and National Governing Bodies of Sport.

As a Fitness Instructor for Edge Hill Sport you will supervise customers within the fitness suite at the Sports Centre, providing inductions to new members and ensuring that existing members are using the facilities safely and effectively.

You will provide one to one instruction and advice on training methods and techniques, and market the facilities to potential new members. You will always demonstrate a high level of customer care to ensure the Fitness Suite maintains a customer focused and friendly environment to attract and retain members.

Level 3 qualification in personal training with experience in the fitness and leisure industry
Ability to provide consultations and personal training to a diverse user group, from special populations to high performance athletes.
Excellent communication skills both delivering and receiving
Initiative - take the lead, lead yourself and perform duties unsupervised
Ability to organise your own workload and work to deadlines often in a pressurized environment
Significant knowledge of lifestyle issues around exercise such as nutrition
High motivation, energy and charismatic
Resilience with self believe, confidence and a positive mind set
