Full Job Description

Our Nottingham Service Centre, based in Sutton-in-Ashfield, is a dedicated rail competence hub, specialising in the repair, overhaul, and refurbishment of essential rail components. As a RISAS-accredited facility, we uphold the highest safety and quality standards, offering mechanical and electrical repairs, reverse engineering, and custom technical solutions for rotating equipment. We aim to enhance reliability and performance, keeping rail systems running smoothly. Your Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Dismantle, rewind, reassemble, and test single-phase/three-phase AC and small DC motors, pumps, and gearboxes.
  • Inspect equipment for damage or malfunctions and accurately document all data.
  • Prepare and inspect parts for rewinding, ensuring high-quality repairs.
  • Operate specialised equipment, including winding machines, surge testers, ovens, and grinders.
  • Complete paperwork and ensure all work meets quality, time, and cost requirements.

    Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Electrical Machine Repair and Rewinding.
  • Proven experience in dismantling, rewinding, assembling, and testing AC/DC motors.
  • Hands-on experience with rotating mechanical/electrical equipment.
  • Workshop experience in a mechanical or electrical environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • A full and valid driving licence (preferred).
