Full Job Description

We're currently recruiting a dedicated Fixed Assets Finance Assistant to help ensure the smooth running of the operations in Compass Group UK on a full time basis, contracted to 40 hours per week., Could you bring your spark to Compass Group UK? Here's what you need to know before applying:
Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Monthly reporting and reconciliation of Asset ledger.

  • Excellent understanding of the Fixed Asset end to end process.

  • Recording all fixed asset additions in the fixed asset register in Open accounts.

  • Maintenance of fixed asset register including uploading of additions, disposals, asset transfer files and checking that assets are not duplicated.

  • Support in the resolution of finance queries

  • Management of fixed assets queries inbox

  • Running off monthly depreciation, write of assets.

  • Creation & posting of General Ledger journals to reflect the above.

  • Ensuring all approvals of fixed asset expenditure & projects are in place in line with company guidelines.

  • Ensuring that FAR is up to date in all respects including site transfers and disposals.

  • Ensuring that gaps in the FAR data are filled as accurately and quickly as possible.

  • Ensuring that copies of acquisition invoices are retained to back up the register.

  • Ensuring that depreciation and the profit or loss on disposals is correctly recorded in the nominal ledger.

  • Obtaining regular signed confirmations from the custodians of the assets.

  • Undertaking regular independent and on occasion unannounced checks of the fixed assets.

  • Providing the auditors with all information that they require to complete their audit of fixed assets.

  • Undertaking other nominal ledger related accounting duties as directed by the Head of Fixed Assets.

  • Support any annual and ad-hoc financial accounting requirements for the organisation

  • Continually review and improve processes to ensure an efficient approach

    As a Fixed Assets Finance Assistant, you will use your skills to maintain a high standard of quality work.   • Have experience of book keeping.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to communicate oral and written information concisely and logically.

  • Excellent inter personal skills with proven ability to influence internal and external parties.

  • Advanced Excel Skills (lookups, pivot tables).

  • Ability to adapt during periods of change.

  • Good Microsoft Excel data manipulation and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

  • Able to use initiative and innovative thinker and Stakeholders management skills.
