We are looking for a talented Quality Engineer to join our team specializing in Quality for PLANT VPI in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom This is a 12-month fixed-term position to cover maternity leave. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Enhancing Product Quality: By ensuring products and processes meet initial and long-term quality standards, you'll help deliver defect-free products that satisfy customer needs.
  • Resolving Customer Issues: Managing systems related to plant customer issues and leading containment activities will directly address and resolve customer concerns, improving overall satisfaction.
  • Supporting Continuous Improvement: Utilizing methodologies like Lean Manufacturing and 7-step problem solving, you'll drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Facilitating Change Management: By supporting change management activities for current products and new introductions, you'll ensure smooth transitions and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Conducting Quality Audits: Leading and supporting quality audits will help identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Providing Technical Expertise: Serving as a quality technical resource to other functional areas will enable you to share your knowledge and support cross-functional teams in achieving quality goals.
  • Analyzing Data for Decision Support: Your ability to analyze data will provide valuable insights for decision-making, helping to prioritize actions that improve product and process quality.
  • Leading Safe Launch Initiatives: Supporting or leading Safe Launch initiatives will ensure that new products meet quality standards from the start, reducing the risk of defects and enhancing customer trust.

    Technical and Quality Expertise: A solid understanding of quality core tools and experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) are essential. This expertise will help you effectively lead validation processes and ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements.
  • Strong Computer Skills: Proficiency in computer work is crucial, as you'll need to manage data, analyze information, and use various software tools to support quality and production processes.
  • Effective Communication Skills: Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and cross-functional teams will be key. This includes negotiating and fulfilling customer PPAP requirements and addressing any quality-related issues.
  • Manufacturing and Metrology Experience: Hands-on experience in manufacturing and metrology will enable you to apply practical knowledge to the launch of new products and services, ensuring they meet quality standards from the outset., College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject or experience equivalent is preferred.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.
