Full Job Description

The purpose of this role is to manage the Voyager Class 220/221 Fleet planning department at Central Rivers. The role will closely monitor the fleet mileage and condition status, ensuring periodicity based maintenance is planned and executed within the required time frame. We'll look to you for:

  • To manage a team of fleet planners and Maximo/SAP GSI Inputters based at Central Rivers depot.
  • Ensure maintenance plans are in place for all periodicity-based components on the Voyager fleets
  • Lead/Supporting Maximo/SAP GSI key user programmes and maintenance management system configuration and system updates.
  • Working closely with the Programme Managers to ensure fleet overhauls are completed to schedule and to maximise efficiencies and to ensure availability is not affected.
  • To ensure we meet our customer targets for Service Quality Regime and Damage and Vandalism.
  • To promote a sustained safety culture across the function to ensure compliance of the operations with all applicable health, safety, environmental policies, standards and regulations.
  • Work with the Central Rivers team Continuous Improvement experts to maximise efficiency by the implementation of best practice across the site.
  • To Champion APSYS (Alstom Performance System) for the Fleet team, and to manage actions to closure.
  • Initiate investigations through the MIE process (Maintenance Induced Errors), ensuring that root cause is identified and that suitable mitigations are implemented.
  • As part of this role, you will be required to support site visits and customer/supplier audits, managing actions through to closure.

  • HNC or higher in business or engineering or equivalent
  • Excellent Computer skills- Good Knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point. Capability to develop/use bespoke software tools to support fleet planning
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Good level of Interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Good knowledge of Fleet Maintenance and planning
