Full Job Description

As our relief Support Worker, you'll be at the heart of supporting our customers who have complex mental health issues who may also have a substance misuse issue and/or a mild learning disability

Typical shift as a bank Support Worker

  • Starting the shift with a cuppa and handover from colleagues, Finding out about any changes since you were last on shift and the tasks/ support planned for the day ahead.

  • You will be supporting customer with their identified support needs such as helping with cleaning, paying their rent/ bills, accompanying to community activity or appointment

  • Supporting customers to learn and regain skills with daily living activities such as making meals, shopping, budgeting, maintaining their tenancy and moving on to independent accommodation when they are able.

  • Supporting customers at times of distress and being resilient to support them

  • Working to risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews.

  • Contributing to the maintenance of the property, reporting repairs and Health and safety requirements.

  • One shift you might be working a sleep-in, making sure you're available for overnight support, the next you might be working the day shift supporting customers.

  • We're looking for you to work across The Ipswich East Cluster working in our 24/7 and lower supported housing services, including supporting customers in their own homes.

  • Able to use technology for doing mandatory learning / keeping in touch with colleagues and recording log notes.

  • You'll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.

    Enjoyment working with a range of customers.

  • Flexibility to work at short notice, as you'll be the one picking your next shift.

  • Experience as a Support Worker. It is important that you have worked in this type of environment before.

  • A positive, can do and caring attitude, with the desire to learn to continue making a difference to our customers lives.

  • Previous experience of working with support plans, recording, and using information concisely and effectively.

  • If you are a real people person and are confident working in different services, locations, and teams, then this is the job for you.

    Pay £12 per hour, we pay £50 per sleep in shift and offer great benefits,
