We are looking to recruit a flexible support worker to provide cover support for annual leave, sickness and training to some of our already established support services in Worthing and the surrounding area where you will be guaranteed working hours of up to 20 hours per week.
We have weekday, weekend and evening/sleep in shifts available.
Brief outline of the role:
Your role will be to support people with learning disabilities, autism and other complex needs with day-to-day tasks in either our supported living houses or out in in the community.
We support people with all aspects of their lives, such as daily living skills, medication, personal care and finances as well as accessing community activities. You will need to have good communication skills and just enjoy spending time with people.
We are looking for people who are patient, compassionate, understanding and able to use their own initiative. We would be particularly interested in interviewing people that drive and like theme parks and going on big rides.
It is a rewarding and varied role and one that really makes a difference to the lives of the people we support. It helps them to live a fulfilled life and achieve their goals and dreams with a little help from people who care.
Some learning disability and/or caring experience in supporting people either professionally or personally is preferred for this role.
A current valid driving licence and access to a car would be advantageous for this role due to the vast areas covered but we would consider applicants who know the public transport routes well and are happy to be on foot / bike going from and to some areas.
