Working Hours: Full time position, core office hours Work Location: EMA Cargo West, East Midlands Airport, Derby, DE74 2TR Salary: Competitive DHL Air (UK) is largest all-cargo air carrier in the UK, operating a fleet of B757-200, B767-300 & B777-200 aircraft on worldwide operations. Part of the DHL Express team with our headquarters at East Midlands Airport, we wish to enhance the team to deliver our customer promise of; Excellence, Simply Delivered. We are looking to appoint a self-motivated individual that is people and service focused to join our Flight Operations team. Someone who gets it right 1st time, shows passion in their work and has the "Can Do" spirit that made DHL world leading in Logistics. To qualify for this opening you will ideally need a Flight Operations background, possess first class communication skills and the ability to take a pro-active and enthusiastic approach to contribute positively to a varied and pressured workload whilst adapting to changing priorities as they arise. Exemplary time keeping and attention to detail are essential. The Role:
- Responsible for obtaining all overflight and landing permits/rights for DHL Air's worldwide operations and supplying the information to the Flight Operations Team to execute the flight.
- Maintain and update the various FAOC's held globally.
- Produce monthly reports for US Port Authority invoicing.
- Be close to all aspects of traffic rights and regulations.
- Liaise with OCC regarding schedule changes and impact on permits/permissions.
- Take lead for mid term Network change requests.
- Ensure all permissions are held for flights into/out of the EU block. Requirements:
- Preferred proven flight operations experience, with a clear understanding of permit requirements and the various processes to obtain them.
- A thorough understanding of A/C documentation.
- A proactive working mentality with the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining accuracy to the highest of levels.
- A general understanding of the flight operations procedures.
- Previous experience in airport slot requests, overflight application procedures would be preferable.
- Hold five GCSE's at grade 9-4 (or equivalent) including Mathematics and English.
- A strong working knowledge of MS Office packages including but not limited to Word, Excel and Outlook.
- The right to work in the UK.
- Able to work occasional weekends to meet business demands. The Person:
- Customer service focused with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A "hands-on" people person with a flair and maturity for working in a dynamic and responsible position
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures.
- The ability to work under pressure with flexibility for the Operational needs.
- Excellent team working skills with the ability to deal with colleagues at all levels.
