Full Job Description

We have opportunity for a Part-time (23hrs) Floating Support Worker to join our Floating Support team in Mid-Powys. The service supports individuals within the community who require assistance with any housing related issues. For this role it is essential for the successful candidates to have access to a car, have a full driver's licence, and be happy to transport customers in their car. What is great about the role? Our focus is not just on providing housing related support, you have the autonomy to come up with innovative ideas, support people to have new experiences and learn new skills. Whilst supporting people to access external services with any other needs they may have, such as mental health and/or substance misuse. We strive to ensure that everyone we support receives the very best support to enable and empower them to regain control of their life and to sustain their independence. Joining our Floating Support team will give you the opportunity to learn and grow within the support sector. You will work with talented and experienced people whose passion is to support our clients. Your day will consist of:

  • Encourage and motivate clients to engage with their community and develop life and social skills
  • Provide housing-related support to help clients take on and maintain a tenancy to prevent homelessness
  • Offer advice, information and support to clients
  • Complete all necessary administrative tasks related to the job, including developing risk assessments, support plans and risk management plans
  • Manage a caseload of clients with varying needs and levels of support
  • Liaise and work closely with other agencies and professionals to meet clients' needs
  • Assist clients with potential benefits and help them register with healthcare providers

    Have knowledge of housing related support and benefit systems
  • Have good organisation, IT and record keeping skills
  • Can work part of a team and on an individual basis
  • Deal with difficult situations
  • Have good listening skills

    A competitive salary of £23,585.00 FTE / £14,660.00 for 23hrs per week
  • Work pattern: Days, Mon-Friday 9-5 although flexibility is required due to the needs of the service users.
  • Base: Lant Avenue, Llandrindod Wells
