Full Job Description

You will be one of two Flow Cytometry Facility Managers providing professional, technical and administrative support for the Imperial BRC / LMS Flow Cytometry Facility : including direct responsibility for the day-to-day running and maintenance of complex equipment to ensure a comprehensive, high-quality service to users., You will ensure the smooth running of the facility, train research staff on the various analysers and sorters and advise on experimental procedures. You will also assist in the process of cost recovery billing from facility users via the online PPMS system. You will provide a sorting service for end users, and assist the Senior Laboratory Manager with acquiring the Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework (LEAF) sustainability accreditation.

  • A graduate or postgraduate degree in a biological or related field
  • Experience of flow cytometry and cell sorting
  • Experience in data analysis
  • Communication skills both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and its application
  • Experience of teaching techniques
  • IT skills and experience in flowcytometry software such as DIVA, FlowJo and Cytobank
