Full Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Food Steward to join our esteemed private hospital's Food Services team. As a Food Steward, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our patients and staff receive exceptional food service and maintain a high level of satisfaction. Your primary responsibility will be to provide excellent customer service while delivering meals and maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the food service areas. This is a part-time contract role, requiring you to work 4.5-hour shifts, 5 days a week, Monday to Sunday. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our patients in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.,

  • Prepare and deliver meals to patients by their dietary restrictions and prescribed meal plans
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of meal orders, paying attention to special dietary needs, allergies, and restrictions
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the food service areas, including food preparation, serving, and dining areas
  • Follow proper food handling and safety protocols, including temperature monitoring, storage, and labeling
  • Collect and process patient feedback on food quality, portion sizes, and overall satisfaction
  • Communicate effectively with patients, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely delivery of meals and resolve any issues or concerns
  • Maintain inventory of food supplies, monitor expiration dates, and report any shortages or discrepancies
  • Assist in the preparation of catering orders for hospital events and meetings
  • Collaborate with the Food Services team to improve service quality and efficiency

    Must be available to work regular 10.5 hours shifts in the week
  • Must have rights to work in the UK
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift/move heavy trays or food carts
