Food Service Worker

You will be responsible for serving as a delicatessen/bakery assistant, helping in the preparation,presentation and serving of specialist meats, delicacies, preserved foods, cheeses, salads,breads and sweets to patrons. Your hours of work will be 39 hours per week on an as rosteredbasis, between the hours of 0600-1930 where start & end times may be modified due to missionneeds and in accordance with the organization's flexible working policies. You will be required topass a pre- employment physical at RAF Lakenheath.,

• Weighing, pricing and wrapping selected foods on plates, trays and in bags
• Using prepared ingredients, making hot and/or cold sandwiches, fruit and vegetable
trays, salads and rotisserie chicken.
• Perform duties to include measuring and mixing ingredients as directed and decorating
breads, rolls, pastries, cakes and other bakery items
• Receiving and unloading trucks and stocktaking
• Taking payments from customers
  
  As the Food Service Worker, you will have knowledge and experience within a similar role and
will have the ability to use and maintain food service tools and equipment such as knives,mechanical dishwasher, and powered cleaning equipment. You will have knowledge of foodservice sanitation standards including procedures to prevent contamination, spoilage, and wasteand the ability to concentrate on work assignments despite interruptions and distractions. Youwill be able to read and understand simple signs, names of food items, and instructions and theability to learn food service safety regulations, practices, and procedures. You will be required todo tasks with several steps and to follow established sequence of tasks without more thannormal supervision. A knowledge of basic arithmetic to count number of tables/trays required todetermine number of servings a container will yield and count change when required to performcashier duties is essential.
